Water Use and Irrigation Efficiency

The District was awarded a $2 million grant from the Bureau of
Reclamation's WaterSMART 2011 Program for irrigation system
delivery improvements and on-farm irrigation efficiency. As part of the
WaterSMART Program and in cooperation with the USDA Natural
Resources Conservation Service, eligible District growers were
awarded up to 50% cost share for on-farm projects that improve water
use efficiency.
